INTERNSHIP PROGRAMS

Project Return has been a training ground for many student interns involved in a degree program in the field of human services. Interns are typically referred to us through their academic programs and go through an interview process and reference check. We have been fortunate to have many wonderful undergraduate and graduate interns from New York University, Fordham, Sacred Heart, Fairfield University, and Southern Connecticut.

Supervision of undergraduate interns is conducted by Resident Managers with oversight provided by the Executive Director. Supervision of graduate students is conducted by designated clinicians with oversight provided by the Executive Director.

The goals for student interns are:

Evaluations regarding performance are done in a formal and written manner. They are done mid-semester and end of semester. Evaluations of interns are on an ongoing basis through observation and supervisory meetings. Formal, written evaluations are conducted with the referring college, Project Return supervising staff and the intern.

If you are a student or academic advisor interested in finding out more information regarding our internship program, please contact us by email.

Project Return Internships

"Working as an intern at Project Return I learned a lot about crisis intervention, boundary maintenance, and the importance of empathy. Now, as part of the staff, I am able to utilize this wisdom. The family model we use is now just like a family to me."
